Dr Gordon Munro, the Academy’s new Deputy Director (Academic) emphasises the challenge of objectively measuring artistic quality. He advocates for a combination of formal assessments and informal discussions among peers to evaluate artistic output and proposes a balance between "tight" standards that set expectations and "loose" implementation tailored to each discipline and pedagogy.

Our heartiest congratulations go to A Guilty Conscience 毒舌大狀 directed and co-written by our School of Film and Television (FTV) alumnus, Jack Ng, and co-written by our FTV alumnus and senior lecturer, Dr. Terry Lam, as well as featuring the performance of our School of Drama alumnus, Tse Kwan-ho, has won Best Film at the 42nd Hong Kong Film Award.

The Academy is excited to bring you “Catch me if you can” on the Chinese operatic stage. 
  
Performed and accompanied by the students of the Performance Major and the Music Major of the Academy’s School of Chinese Opera, the annual production Gongs and Drums will showcase the pursuance of a wiseman, a villain, and a husband from 3 different excerpts, Xiao He Chases after Han Xin 月下追賢, Catch Zhang Sanlang Alive 活捉張三郎 and Shatter the Marriage Challenge Sign 劉金定之碎牌招親.

Our most-anticipated activity for art enthusiasts is back in June! 
   
This year we are going to hold our member-exclusive art jamming party again at our world-class Scenic Workshop where members of the Young Friends of the Academy (YF) will be able to let go of their creative juice and chit-chat with our students and alumni to learn more about performing arts and the Academy.
