Cross-disciplinary Project: Wong Chi-yung’s A HEAVEN IN A WILD FLOWER Experiential Installation | Experiential Dance | Online Public Forum | VR 360 Viewing
06 March - 30 June 2021‖Category : Academy Events
A Heaven in a Wild Flower is an experiential Installation as well as a performance. School of Dance invited Wong Chi-yung to share this cross-disciplinary project by co-organizing workshops, exhibition and public forum, aiming to reach wider audiences from different sectors and to facilitate new dialogues on the topic of "Arts and Mindfulness". Based on Chi-yung’s installation and workshop, dancers are invited to explore the relationship of “Movement”, “Observation” and “Introspection”, and rendering it into a series of dance creations interacting with the installation, where the installation becomes their performance stage.
The installation, funded by Hong Kong Arts Development Councial is the second part of Wong Chi-yung's experiential installation series - To See A World in a Grain of Sandcommissioned by Théâtre de Liège in Belgium in 2018. The project is inspired by mindfulness and its related scientific research; a result conveying Chi-yung artistic research on mindfulness into an artistic creation. This experiential installation combines both theatre arts and technology, creating a contemplative space where the visitors can immerse themselves into a sensory experience with light, music, dance and touch.
