Talented dance students from ballet, contemporary dance and Chinese dance streams of the Academy presented five diverse pieces of distinctive styles at School of Dance Fall Performances at the Academy Lyric Theatre. Together with five renowned choreographers and production team comprising of faculty members and students from School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, audience was amazed by this captivating showcase!

The Closest Knot, a contemporary dance piece choreographed by Artist in Residence, Judith Sánchez Ruíz, conceptualises the blend of styles, situations, statements and imagery, stimulating a fresh and original storytelling narratives in contemporary dance.

Dawn, a contemporary dance piece choreographed by our alumna and former academy lecturer (contemporary dance) Li Yongjing, explores time and memories as a metaphor for time is silent, but the memories are endless.

Singularity, a ballet dance piece choreographed by our alumna and former academy lecturer (Dance) and Choreography Programme Coordinator Nguyen Ngoc Anh, representing “meditation” in the form of dance.

Reverie of Dunhuang, a Chinese dance piece choreographed by National first-class choreographer and director Yan Hongxia, pays a heartfelt tribute to the great civilisation of ancient Silk Road with its distinctive and uniqueness melody.

Shaken by Two Winds, a ballet dance piece choreographed by our alumna and former academy lecturer (ballet dance) Eve Chan, is inspired by the song Agitata da due venti from the Italian Opera Griselda.
