In September 2021, “Diary VII • The Story Of......” was premiered in Hong Kong and awarded by the 23rd Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2022 with the outstanding choreography and the best small venue production. In August-September 2023, it performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was selected as one of the top 50 shows that must be seen in the festival. It was also awarded the best dance performance by the DarkChat Awards of the Edinburgh Festival.
The production was created by the renowned Hong Kong choreographer Mui Cheuk Yin and accompanied by the young and talented lighting designer Lee Chi Wai. it combined text, shadow, sound, and elegant movement. It began with a story of stray cats, from which we see a family history and the social concerns. This work was full of passion and with deep reflective performance.
