May Au is a Lecturer in Stage and Event Management. She was among the first cohort of students to graduate from the HKAPA with a degree in stage management. Before returning to her alma mater to teach, she acquired more than 13 years of extensive professional technical and management experience in events and productions. 

May’s deep professional expertise and her keen knowledge of all programmes of the department, including but not limited to the BFA and MFA, have enabled her to enlighten students both theoretically and practically, all while keeping pace with the performing arts sector that has been evolving remarkably in recent years.

She holds an MA in Communication from the Hong Kong Baptist University. She is also currently advancing her academic qualifications by undertaking further studies in Creative Events Management at the Falmouth University, a leading university for the creative industries in the UK. 

May maintains a close connection with the theatre and entertainment industry. She is an active full member of the Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association and a life professional member of the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers.
