Ms CHAN, Alice
Senior Lecturer (Stage and Event Management)
Alice Chan is a Senior Lecturer in Stage and Event Management at TEA. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education in the field of Theatre and Entertainment Arts. She is a frequent speaker at talks and workshops organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong School Drama Festival, and theatre groups in Hong Kong.
Alice’s career began as a Resident Stage Manager of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in the 1990s. She is a versatile practitioner in the fields of stage management, event management, and performing arts. Her career highlights include such positions as: Technical Consultant for the Golden Jubilee Grand Finale of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Programme Officer for the 3rd International Abilympics, Set Designer for productions of the Hong Kong Dance Federation, and Designer for the Millennium Project of the Arts with the Disabled Association of Hong Kong.
Alice holds MEd in Teaching in Higher Education from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a BFA in Technical Arts (Theatre).
A dynamic contributor to the theatre and entertainment arts industry in Hong Kong, Alice is a Life Member of the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technician & Scenographers. She was Founding Director of the HKAPA’s Academy Alumni Association and served as their Secretary and Treasurer. Additionally, she was a founding member of the School of Technical Arts Alumni Association and was Vice Chairman until 2010.
Alice aspires to continually contribute to the intellectual exchange of arts, culture, aesthetics, and art education in Hong Kong.
