Prior to joining the HKAPA in 2018, Wa was the Manager of Technical & Production (Performing Arts) at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.

A prolific sound designer, Wa produced and directed the highly acclaimed multimedia concert, Primary Shapes: an Eternal Golden Braid, commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Festival. He flexed his expertise in 3D audio when he created a 52-channel surround-soundscape for the panoramic multimedia spectacular, Bubble Show: Year of Dragon, for City Of Dreams Macau, and he developed an original multi-channel musical-soundscape for Swire Properties’ Pacific Place Mall. Wa has worked with many celebrated artists throughout his career, including Mark Fisher, the late world-renowned British artistic director, architect, and designer. Wa contributed to the sound design of Fisher’s acrobatic spectacular, AQUA, in southern China.

In addition to his professional practice, Wa has presented at the international conferences of Audio Engineering Society, Acoustical Society of America, and the Academy’s International Symposium of Practice-as-Research.
