Inspired by Original Chinese Novel Journey to the West & Anthony Chan’s play of the same name
Holy Monk, after obtaining the Buddhist scriptures in the West, returns to the Capital from the Monastery with his three disciples: Monkey King, River Monk, and Swine Monk. However, they find that much has changed. The Great Tang Empire is no longer as it once was, and the Sutra of the West are not what they had imagined. Even the relationship between Holy Monk and his disciples encounters occasional tensions.
