Complementary Studies (CS) comprises the General Education Unit and Language Unit.
The Language Unit aims to improve students’ English and Chinese proficiency in professional, academic and personal usage. Our mission is to provide students with a quality and coherent language learning experience through discipline-related contents and help them develop into competent and confident communicators in their study lives and beyond.
General Education is an integral component of the 1-year Diploma, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Music (Honours) programmes at the Academy. It includes both Liberal Arts and Academy Elective Courses. Liberal Arts Courses are core and required courses designed to equip students with fundamental cultural knowledge for performing artists. Academy Elective Courses aim at developing students to become intellectual, articulate and reflective performing art practitioners.
