Biography

Sukyi Chan is currently the Head of Actor’s Training in the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).
In 2010, he graduated from the HKAPA with a master’s degree, majoring in Acting. He also studied acting and teaching in E’cole Philippe Gaulier in 1996 and 2002 respectively.
Sukyi was a full-time actor at Chung Ying Theatre company (1994-1995) and Hong Kong Repertory Theatre Company (1996-2001), and a full-time lecturer at HKAPA School of Drama in 2004-2011.
He was nominated many times and won various awards including Best Supporting Actor (Comedy) for his performance in “Move over Mr. Markham” (1994); Best Actor (Comedy) for “Miss Du Shi Niang” (1996); Best Actor (Comedy) for “Let me Love once” (2001); Best Actor (Drama) for “Blasted by Sarah Kane” (2013) and Best Supporting Actor (Comedy) for “The Emperor, his Mom, a Eunuch and a Man” (2014). He also won awards in Directing by the productions “Oldsters on Fire” (2004) and “An Angel dumped into New City” (2016).
Sukyi founded Radix Troup Theatre Company in 2016 and served as Artistic Director.
