Biography

Billy graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London with an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice, specialized in Performing. He was awarded a Distinction for the ACTL Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance by Trinity College. He also received extensive training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (London), Moscow Arts Theatre School (Russia), Trinity Laban Dance School (London), IUGTE Physical Theatre Lab (Austria) and Patsy Rodenburg Academy (London/Portugal). 


In the UK, Billy has worked with many theatre companies, including The Old Vic, Royal Court Theatre, Yellow Earth Theatre, and StoneCrabs Theatre. After London, Billy returned to Hong Kong to develop his career. He is an actor, singer, voice teacher, director, writer and corporate trainer in voice and public speaking.  He has acted in a wide range of productions on stage and screen in HK and abroad, including musical theatre, plays and films.


In voice, Billy is trained under the world's leading voice coach, Patsy Rodenburg. He also learned the scientific approach to voice production and teaching under the Estill Voice Training programme, mentored by Naomi Eyers. Besides teaching the speaking and singing voice to actors, Billy also works with corporations to conduct voice, presentation, public speaking, and communication training.


Billy was a guest speaker and visiting artist at several universities and international conferences, including ‘WildWind Performance Lab’ at Texas Tech University (U.S.), I-Shou University (Taiwan), and Sibiu International Theatre Festival Conference (Romania). 


He is interested in the inter-relatedness of culture, identity, memory, migration, food, and voices, and would like to find ways to make them cross paths in arts.
