Thematic Display: Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama is considered one of the most famous contemporary artists in the world. She was born in 1929 in Matsumoto City, Japan. Before relocating to New York in 1958, she studied painting in Kyoto City University of Arts. Her artwork creations are best known for using of polka-dots, pumpkins, and mirrors. Even now at the age of 93, she is still continuing with her arts.

 

Kusama's life has not been easy; she has suffered from hallucination since 10 but this is also fueling her creativity. The Library has put together lists of books, videos, and e-resources for you to discover more about this widely admired contemporary artist's life and works.
