Keyboard Studies

Pianists with potential are trained to pursue careers as soloists, accompanists, chamber musicians and teachers. In addition to individual Major Study tuition, students take a range of core courses in keyboard musicianship skills, repertoire, knowledge of keyboard instruments, pedagogy, accompaniment and chamber music. They are also encouraged to extend their knowledge of performance practice and interpretive traditions through organ, harpsichord or fortepiano studies. Opportunities to perform as soloist, accompanist or chamber music player are immense, and students benefit from frequent contact with distinguished visiting artists.
