HKAPA Open Day 2024
The Academy will present its annual Open Day on Sunday March 3 this year, filled with over a hundred free performing arts events prepared by students and faculty from six Schools on the Wanchai Main Campus and the Béthanie Landmark Heritage Campus in Pokfulam of the Academy. Some activities will make use of artificial intelligence (AI) and art technology, providing visitors with an immensely joyful and unique experience.
A wide array of performing arts activities includes a performance by Junior Symphony Orchestra, concerts of Chinese and Western music, excerpt performances of musicals, drama, Cantonese opera, Dance open classes, film and television screenings, as well as guided tours for immersive performing arts activities. Furthermore, visitors can even go to backstage to discover the secrets behind the scenes, including stage design, props and costumes making, as well as stage effects exhibitions, indulging themselves in the world of performing arts on the day. The “On Stage @HKAPA Digital” of the Academy Library also allows visitors to step onto different stages as the character of the Academy productions virtually and take a digital photo. The Academy heartily welcomes everyone to embark on an amazing journey exploring the integration of AI and art technology in performing arts.

Academy Horn Masterclass by German Hornsound
Founded in 2010 by four graduates of the French horn class of Christian Lampert at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart, german hornsound has earned a strong international reputation based on its exceptional profile. With their new concert formats and creative program concepts the could debut at nearly all music festivals in German-speaking Europe over the past years.
The four horn players have positions in professional orchestras: the Düsseldorf Symphony, the Hanover State Opera House, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Bamberg Symphony.
Besides their concert activities, german hornsound focuses on youth development and young talents. They performed education programs in the Philharmonie Luxemburg as well as in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. They founded the GHS academy which offers workshops and masterclass for all levels of horn playing: for young beginners, for soloists and ensembles participating the german youth competition “Jugend musiziert”, for students, professionals and ambitioning hobby hornists.

Violinists Nikki & Timothy Chooi With Pianist Anson Wong
Hong Kong Generation Next Arts (HKGNA) is thrilled to launch our Brilliant Young World Stars Series” with Canadian Violinists Nikki & Timothy Chooi.
The brightest and best violinists of the generation, the Chooi Brothers have won many prestigious international competitions including Queen Elisabeth Competition, and performed in many festivals around the world. They will make their Hong Kong debut and will be joined by HKGNA International Music Competition Grand Prize Winner Pianist Anson Wong.
