Biography
Zhang Chongxue is a renowned Huqin performer and educator in Chinese music. Currently she is the Head of the Chinese Music Department of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Zhang's has performed as a soloist worldwide, showcasing her passionate style and exquisite technique, leaving a lasting impression of purity and an aura of brilliance. After graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, she has served as Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Currently, Zhang also holds several positions, including Guest Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, erhu tutor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Education University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University.
To support the development of Chinese music and cultivate a new generation of audiences, Zhang actively participates in masterclasses, workshops, and outreach music programs organized by various institutions and organizations, including the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the London Economic and Trade Office, and the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. In addition, Zhang has been featured in interviews presented by various media agencies, including Hong Kong 01, Capital, and Commercial Radio Hong Kong's CR1.
