A distinguished alumni sharing session named “The Journey of A Playwright”, organised by the Academy’s Development Office, was held on October 24, 2022 at the Academy. During the event, distinguished alumna and acclaimed playwright Candace Chong (Major in Playwriting, School of Drama, 2001) shared her inspirational story of becoming a successful playwright and valuable tips in playwriting with students, teachers and alumni of the Academy.
Candace Chong Mui-ngam, Hong Kong playwright, is a six-time winner of the Hong Kong Drama Award for Best Script. She was awarded the Best Artist (Drama) of the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards in 2010. Some of her plays have been adapted into movies and television dramas such as: My Very Short Marriage and Fatal Visit. Her recent work One Last Gift completed a total of 50 shows with great acclaim.
