The Registry, in collaboration with Schools, academic and administrative units, supports the development and implementation of academic regulations and policies relating to study programmes. It acts as an expert provider of essential Academy-wide academic services spanning the full study cycle from admission to graduation. The Registry is the Academy’s executive arm in quality assurance and enhancement covering related functions from programme approval, monitoring and review, to internal and external quality review, and conduct of course evaluation surveys and student experience surveys. The Registry also provides secretarial services to academic committees, including the Academic Board and its key boards and committees at the institutional level.

 

Reporting to the Registrar and Assistant Registrar (Academic Services), the Academic Services Manager will work closely with Schools, academic units, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent policy and quality control over different levels of programmes. He/She supports the Assistant Registrar (Academic Services) in delivering a wide range of Registry functions, including course registration, student records, class timetabling, progression and graduation, preparation of statistical reports, and system enhancement. The appointee also provides secretariat support to Boards and Committees.

 

Applicants should have:
(a) A Bachelor’s Degree with at least seven years of working experience; preferably in registry functions at tertiary institutions or relevant organisations;
(b) An excellent command of both English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
(c) Leadership potential and commitment with a proactive work attitude, self-motivation, good analytical ability and judgement, and a high degree of reliability;
(d) Good interpersonal, organisational and time management skills to deliver high quality services effectively and efficiently;
(e) Good technical aptitude with strong database management, logical thinking, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills;
(f) Good numerical sense, database management literacy, and hands-on knowledge of the operation of student information system as well as the application of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; and
(g) A track record of programme administration, including admissions, course registration, examination, graduation with hands-on experience in student information and admission systems and website administration are advantage.

 

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the appointment of an Executive Officer (Registry).

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT 
Appointment will be on a two-year contract. Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy.  A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
