The Development Office is mainly responsible for soliciting donations, scholarships, sponsorships as well as assisting the Society of the Academy for Performing Arts in its fundraising work. The Academy seeks a dynamic and resourceful person to head the Development Office to formulate and implement the Academy’s fundraising development plan. He/She will also work closely with the alumni association aiming at enhancing alumni engagement and involvement. He/She will serve the Development Committee as Committee Secretary.
Applicants should:
(a) Have a Bachelor’s degree or above with at least 10 years of experience in fundraising, alumni affairs and external relations, preferably in a tertiary educational setting;
(b) Be able to demonstrate past records of successfully meeting or exceeding fundraising targets, particularly in major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grant-seeking;
(c) Have extensive experience in donor prospect research;
(d) Have strong managerial and presentation skills;
(e) Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with people at all levels; and
(f) Have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is highly desirable.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract. Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Non-accountable Cash Allowance will be provided to the eligible appointee.
