2023/24 Undergraduate and Post-secondary Programme Admission
Deadline on 9 Dec

The HKAPA Info Day 2022 was successfully held on 8 October with an increase of 20% onsite participants in comparison to last year. We are glad that our participants actively interacted with our faculty members in the School sessions to learn about the admission interview requirements and career prospects. Our onsite participants particularly enjoyed our guided campus tour held at the Wan Chai campus which showcased our world class facilities and enabled face-to-face discussion with our current students about their student lives. Please click the image below to watch the event highlights.

To give you a better understanding of our programmes and how the Academy can help students to excel, we have invited six award winning alumni with outstanding achievements in their disciplines to share their learning experiences online. We encourage you to check out and share our Facebook posts with video links with students.

HKAPA Offers 1 Scholarship for Every 2 Students

HKAPA is grateful for the generosity of our alumni, faculty and staff, and corporate partners and friends, so that we can offer around 500 scholarships each year. In other words, for every two students, one of them will have a chance to receive a scholarship as an acknowledgement of his/ her excellent performance and achievements.

There are three types of scholarships:

1. Recruitment scholarships

  • Local students with excellent performance in auditions and interviews or outstanding academic results may be granted an amount equal to annual tuition fee for up to 4 years.

2. Scholarships nominated by our six Schools

  • The Dean of each School will nominate students with outstanding academic performance or other achievements for scholarships.

3. Scholarships for students’ open application

  • Recommended by each School, students with excellent academic performance or other achievements and contributions may also apply for selected scholarships themselves.
  • e.g. HKSAR Government Scholarships Fund, The Society of APA Scholarships, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships, HSBC Scholarship

We hope our financial support can help our students to focus on their studies and encourage them to pursue performing arts and professional development continuously.

New Major in Choreography

Choreography is not only about the arrangement of dance movement but also the art of composing the dance that will be delivered to the audience; this can be very challenging for young dancers.

On top of the existing Major in Performance, the School of Dance has enhanced its degree programme from 2022/23 academic year onward with a new Major in Choreography. Students from both Majors will enrol in the same courses on dance techniques and related academic studies in order to develop a solid foundation in Year 1 and Year 2. In Year 3 and Year 4, they will be able to enrol in specific courses related to their chosen Major and/or Specifications.

Also, the programme has four key learning areas, namely Academics Studies, Dance Creation, Dance Pedagogy and Dance Science, which will help students to gain a deeper understanding of related professional areas in dance.

The Schools hopes the new study arrangement will be able to expand students’ horizon for interpreting and creating dance which will eventually strengthen their skills and increase their competitiveness.

Nurtures Visionary Future Drama Practitioners

At the School of Drama in HKAPA, we hope to nurture students to become professional drama practitioners who care for the society.

From developing scripts, screenwriting, performance on stage, to the application of drama in communication-related works, the five Majors offered by the School of Drama will be able to provide a holistic training to our drama students so that they will become professional drama practitioners who are equipped with a vision in art and are able to understand the importance, relevancy and development of arts in the society.

Our five Majors aim to nurture our students to explore and apply professional performance techniques in classical and contemporary theatrical works; to lead theatrical works with professional aesthetics knowledge and leadership skills; to educate and connect with different communities through drama; and to develop future drama theatre creation.

Do you want to become a drama performer with a vision? Let your journey into Drama take flight with HKAPA.
