The Academy organised a donation ceremony on July 7 attended by Ms. Vivian Kwok, Mr. Charles Kwok, Mr. Chapman Ngan, Deputy Director (Administration), Professor Anna CY Chan, Dean of Dance, and representatives of the Hong Kong Dance Federation, including Mr. Lau Ting Kwok, Chairperson, Mrs. Virginia Lo, Executive Director, and Mr. Sin Yuen, Artistic Director, and respresentatives of Hong Kong Ballet Group, including Mrs. Helen Tseng Wu, former Chairperson, Dr. Shen Shir Ming, Board Member, and Ms. Sylvia Wu, Board Member.
Mr. Chapman Ngan, Deputy Director (Administration) of the Academy, expressed his gratitude to Ms. Kwok for her generous support to establish the “Stephen Kwok Memorial Fund”. During his speech, Mr. Ngan commended Mr. Stephen Kwok for his tremendous contribution to the development of the dance industry and dance education in Hong Kong. The Fund will not only support our Dance students’ participation in overseas enrichment activities to broaden their horizons and enhance their skills and knowledge, but also support Dance students’ initiation of special education and community projects, providing them with meaningful opportunities to give back to the community.
Ms. Vivian Kwok remarked, “My father Mr. Stephen Kwok was one of the founders of the Hong Kong Dance Federation and Hong Kong Ballet Group and had been dedicated to expediting dance development and supporting dance education in Hong Kong. The Federation has collaborated with the Academy’s School of Dance to nurture new generations of dancers by providing training to young dancers and selecting talented youth to join the Gifted Young Dancer Programme through competition. It is my great pleasure to support the School with the establishment of the ‘Stephen Kwok Memorial Fund’ to continue my father’s legacy and support for dance education in partnership with the Academy.”
