The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) presented its 2018/19 Scholarship Presentation and Donors’ Appreciation Gathering yesterday evening (6May) in honour of individuals, companies, organisations, friends and Academy staff and faculty members for their generosity in making possible the award of 532 scholarships, studentships, and prizes totalling over HK$ 16 million to Academy students for the year 2018/19.
Mr Jack Chan JP, the Under Secretary for Home Affairs of the HKSAR Government, was the Guest of Honour of the ceremony, in the presence of Academy Council Chairman Professor Stephen Chow GBS, JP and Academy Director Professor Adrian Walter AM.
During the ceremony, Professor Stephen Chow and Professor Adrian Walter expressed profound gratitude to all donors. They hope that the scholarships could pave the ways for the students in pursuing their dreams in performing arts.
The awards aim to recognise Academy students for their outstanding leadership, excellence in academic performance and strong commitment to community services. The recipients are from across six Schools of the Academy, namely, Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music and Theatre and Entertainment Arts.
