The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) has earned a prestigious position in the Top 20 of the QS World University Rankings for Performing Arts, reinforcing its status as a global leader in performing arts education.
This latest recognition marks the sixth time that HKAPA has ranked in the Top 20 since the Performing Arts category was introduced in 2016. Since its establishment in 1984, HKAPA has consistently showcased Hong Kong as a centre for East-meets-West international cultural exchange.
Mr. Charles Yang, Council Chairman of HKAPA, remarked, "The Academy continues to be a centre for excellence in providing performing arts education and fostering international cultural exchange. This recognition from QS affirms our commitment to nurturing future talents in the performing arts. The Academy will continue to strive for excellence in nurturing performing artists and exploring innovative ways of teaching and learning."
"As Hong Kong's only conservatoire, we are proud to offer a rich and unique curriculum for the most talented future performance artists in the world. Our interdisciplinary approach to artistic education, spanning Chinese opera, dance, drama, film, television, music, and theatre, offers students unparalleled opportunities for innovative creation, practice, and research. I would like to extend our deep gratitude for the steadfast support of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Academy Council," said Dr. Gordon Munro, Acting Director of HKAPA.
