Pinchas Zukerman has been recognized as a musical phenomenon for nearly four decades.  His musical genius and prodigious technique have been a marvel to critics and audiences, and his exceptional artistic standards continue to earn him the highest acclaim.  His devotion to younger generations of musicians has been applauded worldwide.  Equally respected as a violinist, violist, composer, conductor, pedagogue and chamber musician, Zukerman is indeed a master of our time.

In April 1998, Zukerman was appointed Music Director of the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada.  He is also Music Director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Summer MusicFest, Music Director of the Ilona Feher Music Center in Israel, and chairs the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Programme at the Manhattan School of Music.

Zukerman collaborates regularly with major orchestras and renowned musicians around the world including Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony and the Israel Philharmonic.  Zukerman’s extensive discography contains over 100 titles, and has earned him 21 Grammy nominations and two awards: ‘Best Chamber Music Performance’ in 1980 and ‘Best Classical Performance, Instrumental Soloist’ in 1981.

Zukerman has a honourary doctorate from Brown University and an Achievement Awards from the International Centre in New York.  He was presented with the King Soloman Award from the American-Israel Cultural Foundation and in 1983, President Reagan presented him with a Medal of Arts for his leadership in the world of music.  In 1997, Zukerman performed in a fundraising concert for the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and taught masterclasses here, both in person and through interactive audio-visual transmission with the Manhattan School of Music.
