This international conference aims to:
- Bring together global thought-leaders and academics to explore creative innovation in performing arts and share pedagogical practices.
- Provide a multidisciplinary platform for local and international performing artists, educators, practitioners, technologist, academics, researchers, and students to present and share good practices and discuss the way forward to enrich performing arts education .
- Provide an international community of practice for local and international stakeholders to showcase their works and exchange ideas.
- Facilitate learning, networking research and publishing opportunities for academics and students.
International Symposium on Practice-as-Research (ISPaR)
4-6 December 2017
The inaugural International Symposium on Practice-as-Research was held at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 4-6 December 2017. The symposium aimed to provide staff, students and practitioners in the region and further afield with professional development and networking opportunities within the field of Practice-as-Research. It also sought to establish HKAPA as a hub for Practice-as-Research in Asia. International delegates came from around the world, including: Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, The United States, Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland (Eire), France and The Netherlands. International and local presenters came together to present workshops, papers, performance, posters, panels and keynotes.
