The postholder will assist the Head of Campus Development to:
Manage, administer, monitor and co-ordinate construction projects and campus renovation / improvement works from inception to the completion of the projects;
Evaluate the space requests of the Academy, review the utilisation of space, assist in developing space allocation plans and establishing a space standard for the Academy to maximise the effective use of the campus space;
Prepare project documents including but not limited to contract documents, tender documents, design drawings, specifications, issuing works orders, purchasing orders, budget plans and construction / implementation programmes;
Supervise consultants and contractors as well as monitor and manage the performance of consultants and contractors;
Liaise with relevant stakeholders on space, project and technical matters;
Enforce proper site management including but not limited to monitoring the progress of works on site, and co-ordinating with consultants, site staff and contractor(s) on implementation of works across various trades in architectural, structural and building services, particularly on prompt consolidation and arrival of a solution to site problems;
Supervise professional/technical staff and provide professional advice and support; and
Undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Applicants should:
(a) Possess a recognised degree in Architecture / Building Surveying / Engineering / Quantity Surveying or related discipline with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience;
(b) Be a member of a professional institution, e.g. HKIA, HKIE, HKIS or similar professional bodies;
(c) Have minimum 6 years of project management experience in handling or managing capital works projects and budget control. Experience in a public project will be an advantage;
(d) Be well versed with Hong Kong construction and building-related legislations, government procedures and policies;
(e) Preferably have knowledge in BIM or green building;
(f) Have good interpersonal and presentation skills; and
(g) Have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract. Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Master Carpenter, assisting in producing high-quality scenery for various theatrical productions and events of the Academy. This role offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate and develop skills in scenic construction, as well as supporting student learning. The postholder is required to work 44 hours per week and may be required to work in the evenings of weekday, on weekends and public holidays.
Required Qualifications:
(a) A relevant degree/diploma and/or professional training/experience in theatre production or a related field;
(b) Experience in carpentry or scenic construction, preferably in theatre or live event production;
(c) Proficiency in using woodwork and metalwork tools and equipment, along with knowledge of safety protocols;
(d) Good communication skills for effective collaboration with production teams and students;
(e) Ability to troubleshoot issues related to scenic construction and adapt plans as needed
Additional Desirable Criteria:
(f) Familiarity with computer-aided design software, particularly AutoCAD and CNC;
(g) Experience working in an educational setting;
(h) Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.

The Registry, in collaboration with Schools, and academic and administrative departments, supports the development and implementation of academic regulations and policies relating to study programmes. It acts as an expert provider of essential Academy-wide academic services spanning the full study cycle from admission to graduation. The Registry is the Academy’s executive arm in quality assurance and enhancement covering related functions from programme approval, monitoring and review, to internal and external quality review, and conduct of course evaluation surveys and student experience surveys. The Registry also provides secretarial services to academic committees including the Academic Board and its key boards and committees at the institutional level.
Reporting to the Registrar and Assistant Registrar (Quality Assurance), the Executive Officer will provide administrative and secretarial support to Boards and Committees, and internal and external review and validation exercises, contributing to the Academy’s quality enhancement. The successful candidate will be posted to the Academic Quality Assurance Office of the Registry.

The School of Music at the Academy offers comprehensive full-time programmes, including Diploma, BMus, MMus, and a new doctoral degree (expected 2027), alongside its highly successful Junior Music Programme – comparable to the ‘Junior Schools’ of other world-leading conservatoires. In keeping with its conservatoire status, the School’s philosophy is centred on performance and reflects the unique cultural mix of Hong Kong, with emphasis on both Western and Chinese traditions. The School comprises the Departments of Strings, Keyboard, Voice, Woodwind/Brass/Percussion (‘WBP’), Composition, Chinese Music, Conducting and Cultural Leadership, Academic Studies and Junior Music.
The Head of Composition will be a distinguished performing arts practitioner and/or composer-performer, dedicated to shaping the future of the Composition Department within the School of Music. Building on the department’s existing strengths, the Head will work collaboratively with other senior staff to drive forward innovative developments in performing arts education. This includes fostering advancements in electronic music production, music for applied media, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, ensuring the School remains at the forefront of creative and educational excellence.
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Music, the appointee is expected to oversee the Composition Department and be responsible for teaching, academic leadership and quality assurance in Composition teaching across all levels and programmes. The appointee is expected to lead curriculum design, course review and development in the Composition Department, undertake academic advising and supervision of Undergraduate and Postgraduate research projects, and strengthen the School’s international networks and collaborative projects.
Applicants should have:
(a) A recognised degree in Music or equivalent qualification (preferably a doctoral degree in Composition studies or relevant disciplines).
(b) A strong professional background and extensive professional experience as a composer and an educator.
(c) In-depth knowledge of current music composition trends, pedagogical approaches, and performance practices in composition, including writing for applied media, inter-disciplinary ensembles, the recording studio, etc.
(d) Internationally recognised standing and good industry network.
(e) An excellent teaching record in conservatoire/university contexts across undergraduate, postgraduate, and pre-college music programmes.
(f) A successful track record of leadership and ability within an educational institution or similar performing arts-based organisation, including evidence in curriculum design, implementation and programme development according to established quality assurance frameworks.
(g) Solid experience in managing teams and collaborative work in the cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary context.
(h) The ability to advise and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
(i) Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
(j) A good command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) is an advantage.

The Development Office is mainly responsible for soliciting donations, scholarships, sponsorships as well as assisting the Society of the Academy for Performing Arts in its fundraising work. The Academy seeks a dynamic and resourceful person to head the Development Office to formulate and implement the Academy’s fundraising development plan. He/She will also work closely with the alumni association aiming at enhancing alumni engagement and involvement. He/She will serve the Development Committee as Committee Secretary.

He/She is required to oversee various offices and give steer on areas related to campus development, facility management, venue operations, etc. and ensure that they are delivered effectively, efficiently and in full compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks. The appointee will assist senior management to establish operational priorities and to drive related projects forward. He/She may represent the Academy to attend meetings, including various Legislative Council panels and District Council meetings, on ad hoc projects and matters relating to campus development.
Job Requirements
- A strong administrative background and an extensive track record of involvement in a wide range of operational areas
- Substantial experience in managing strategy studies, capital works projects, facility management and operations in sizeable organisations, preferably in tertiary institution(s)
- Candidate with relevant professional qualification in the areas of architecture, engineering, surveying or a related discipline and track record of leading developmental projects will be an advantage
- Conversant with government procedures, particularly on procurement, tendering and funding submissions
- Demonstrable high-level of management and organisational skills
- Ability to draft complex documents such as funding submissions, project reports and Council papers
- High level of spoken and written proficiency in English and Chinese languages
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract. Renewal of contract is subject to performance and operational needs of the Academy. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Non-accountable Cash Allowance will be provided to the eligible appointee.

SUPERVISOR (BUILDING)

The postholder will assist the Campus Development Office in maintaining the buildings and facilities of the Academy. Duties include:
- Handling building repair and maintenance related works;
- Involved in improvement and renovation projects;
- Supervising works contractors and technicians;
- Assisting in monitoring statutory compliance of buildings and facilities;
- Performing shift and emergency duties, etc.
Applicants should have :
(a) (i) A Higher Diploma in Building Surveying / Building Studies / Engineering or other relevant disciplines with a minimum of 4 year’ experience in building repair and
maintenance; OR
(ii) A Higher Certificate in Building Surveying / Building Studies / Engineering or other relevant disciplines with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in building repair and
maintenance.
(b) Five passes in HKCEE or Level 2 or equivalent in five subjects in HKDSE subjects, including English Language and Chinese Language.
(c) Holding a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”);
(d) Skill and experience in computer software applications including AutoCAD, MS-Office, etc.;
(e) A high degree of self-motivation, and good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills; and
(f) Good written and spoken communications in both English and Chinese.
